Campaign Summary

Your signature goes to the UN.

Over 70 years have passed since atomic bombs destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

And yet, nine countries still possess more than 14,000 nuclear weapons.

The average hibakushais now over 80 and, collectively, they are increasingly desperate to abolish nuclear weapons before the last of them dies. They have worked for seven decades to ensure that you and your family never suffer what they did. In fact, they have devoted tremendous amounts of time, energy and money trying to save humanity from that hell.

Last year, the UN adopted the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW). Now, through their Hibakusha Appeal, the hibakushaare asking all countries to ratify this treaty and move quickly to eliminate all nuclear weapons.

Your signature will add weight to the global public demand for freedom from the nuclear threat. When humanity demands it, politicians will comply, making it possible to bequeath to our children and their children a beautiful, safe and healthy blue planet.

Speaking as one, the hibakusha beg, “Please give us your signature.”

The TPNW was adopted on July 7, 2017. It did not exist when we launched our petition in April 2016. Now that it does, your signature will reinforce the request that all countries join the treaty and liberate us permanently from the nuclear threat.
